OANet — Open Access Infrastructure Partner

Fibre-to-the-home terms & conditions

These terms and conditions govern the provision of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) internet services by OANET (Pty) Ltd. By subscribing to any OANet package, the customer agrees to these terms.

1. Service packages & pricing

OANet offers FTTH packages exclusively within estates where its fibre network has been deployed.

All packages are uncapped, unthrottled, unshaped, symmetrical and month-to-month.

Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice.

2. Installation & last-mile connection

Installation is not included in the monthly subscription.

Last-mile fibre delivery from OANet's estate backbone to the home is quoted separately following a mandatory site inspection.

The quote may include trenching, conduits, splicing, additional cabling, and estate-specific requirements.

Installation timelines depend on estate access permissions, homeowner readiness, and weather conditions.

3. Customer premises equipment (CPE) & Wi-Fi setup

OANet does not supply routers or home Wi-Fi equipment as part of monthly packages.

Last-mile connection, internal Wi-Fi installation, and CPE (router, access points, cabling, brackets) are quoted separately after a site inspection.

Customers may use their own compatible routers, subject to OANet configuration guidelines.

Any CPE purchased or installed via OANet remains the customer's property unless otherwise agreed.

ONU/ONT devices connected to the OANet fibre network remain the property of OANet at all times.

4. Service availability & network performance

Service is only available within estates where OANet fibre has been deployed.

Advertised speeds represent best-effort performance under normal conditions.

Internal Wi-Fi performance may vary depending on structure, walls, interference, and router quality — this is outside OANet's control unless a Wi-Fi installation contract is signed.

5. Billing & payments

Services are billed monthly in advance.

Payment is due on your subscription anniversary date, or on the 3rd day of each month for invoice (EFT) customers.

Accepted payment options: EFT, credit/debit card, and Paystack card subscription links.

Non-payment may result in temporary suspension until the account is brought up to date.

OANet may hand overdue accounts to debt collection agencies after reasonable attempts to contact the customer.

6. Cancellations

Services are provided on a month-to-month basis.

Customers may cancel with one calendar month's written notice via WhatsApp or email.

All outstanding balances must be settled prior to cancellation.

OANet-owned ONT/ONU devices may not be removed or tampered with.

7. Support & fault resolution

Support is available via WhatsApp or the ticketing system.

Internal home Wi-Fi issues (coverage, router faults, signal interference) are not classified as network faults.

Faults impacting multiple users may require coordination with upstream suppliers or estate management.

Response and resolution times may vary depending on the nature of the issue.

8. Fair usage & network protection

All packages are uncapped; however, OANet reserves the right to manage extreme network abuse to protect service quality for all users.

Prohibited activities include: reselling or redistributing the connection outside the primary residence, altering ONU/ONT configurations, hosting public servers without permission, and large-scale torrent seeding or malicious traffic.

9. Customer responsibilities

Customers must: ensure safe access for technicians, provide their own router unless OANet installs one during a paid Wi-Fi setup, maintain electrical power for the ONT/ONU and router, protect all OANet equipment from damage, and keep their contact information updated.

10. Limitation of liability

OANet is not liable for disruptions caused by: load shedding / power outages; damage due to construction or homeowner activity; estate management decisions or access restrictions; weather events (storms, lightning, flooding); or customer-owned routers, Wi-Fi issues, or internal cabling faults.

Compensation for downtime is not guaranteed and remains at OANet's discretion.

11. Privacy & data protection

OANet complies with POPIA. Customer data is used strictly for service activation, billing, support, and operational communication. Information is not shared with third parties outside of legal, billing, or technical requirements.

12. General

These terms apply to OANet's fibre-to-the-home service at any estate OANet serves.

OANet may update these terms at any time.

Continued use of the service indicates acceptance of updated terms.
